Metabolic Genetics · Sujanan

From diagnosis to daily life.

Sujanan is India's only private program that takes inherited metabolic disorders all the way from molecular diagnosis to lifelong management — under one roof, with one team.

One continuous pathway

Diagnosis is only half the answer.

Inherited metabolic disorders need lifelong care. Sujanan is built so that the same team that finds the diagnosis also helps families live with it.

01

Molecular Genetics

Definitive molecular diagnosis of inborn errors of metabolism and inherited metabolic conditions.

02

Newborn Screening (NBS)

Early detection in newborns — 50+ treatable conditions from a heel-prick blood spot — when timely intervention changes the entire course of a child's life.

03

Fetal Autopsy

Compassionate investigation after loss, integrated with metabolic and genetic insight.

04

Genetic Counselling

BGCI-certified counsellors interpret results and map options for the whole family.

05

Molecular Dietitian

A dedicated molecular dietitian translates the diagnosis into a practical, livable nutrition plan.

06

Ongoing Management

Long-term follow-up and management — the part most labs leave to chance.

Led by Dr. Meenal Agarwal.

Sujanan is led by Dr. Meenal Agarwal and operates from the Sujanan Clinic on FC Road, Deccan, Pune, serving families since 2019. It remains India's only private diagnosis-to-management metabolic genetics program.

For clinicians

When to think metabolic.

Refer early when you see these patterns — an early diagnosis is often a treatable one.

Newborns

Poor feeding, lethargy, vomiting, seizures or unexplained acidosis in the first days of life.

Infants & children

Developmental regression, failure to thrive, hypoglycaemia, organomegaly or unusual odours.

Family history

Sibling deaths in infancy, consanguinity, or a known inherited metabolic condition in relatives.

Pregnancy loss

Recurrent loss or a stillbirth where a metabolic cause is suspected — fetal autopsy with metabolic insight.
